Belle & Bunty focus on exclusive hand illustrated and hand printed silks, playing with feminine, flirty and wearable shapes to create wardrobe essentials for both day and night.
After growing frustrated with what was available to young professional women in the designer shops at a reasonable price, Alice & Hannah decided to set up Belle & Bunty, a mid-level designer label, in April of 2003 and launched their first collection at London Fashion Week in that same year.
Proving to be "the label to watch" as described by Drapers Record in 2005, Belle & Bunty have recently been recognized as inspirational, young entrepreneurs when they won the Natwest Every Woman Artemis Award for the most inspirational woman running a business who is aged 25 or under. They were also the focal point in the June 2006 issue of Red Magazine: ‘How to Start Your Own Business’.
Since the launch of the label, Belle &Bunty have picked up impressive media attention with a strong following of celebrities frequently wearing their clothes and numerous stockists both in the UK and abroad. Celebrity fans include June Sarpong, Victoria Beckham, Kate Bosworth, AnaMatronic of the Scissor Sisters. Victoria Beckham also recently featured Belle & Bunty’s best-selling wrap dress in her new book ‘That Extra Half an Inch.’
Belle & Bunty were also chosen as the focus of ‘Tricky Business’ a half hour documentary that was aired on Channel 4 on the 2nd October 2006 about the difficulties of setting up your own business as young entrepreneurs. Other TV appearances have included a London Fashion Week diary with MTV Style, Channel 4’s Richard & Judy and the BBC’s Panorama.
